| Description: | |||||||
| The Stephens' Banded Snake has a broad head which is distinct from a slightly robust body. The head is black with a light brown crown. It has a cream patch on either side of the nape. The lips are barred with black and cream. This snake is black to dark-brown with a series of narrow light brown to orange crossbands along the body and tail with the crossbands becoming broken and less distinct towards the tail. The underbelly is cream with black blotches. | |||||||
